A Decade of Understanding Gender: Reflections on the Past, Present, and Future of GENDER.ED’s Flagship Course
Location
Room 1.55, Edinburgh Futures Institute
Join us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Understanding Gender in the Contemporary World (UGCW), GENDER.ED’s flagship undergraduate course. This event will offer all those with fond memories of, and associations with, the course an opportunity to reflect on its history, its contributions to the University of Edinburgh, and its future.
We will convene at 3.30pm for soft drinks, nibbles and informal discussions, an opportunity to reflect on UGCW in conversation with friends and colleagues. Then, between 4.10pm and 5pm, we will host a roundtable, bringing together a number of key actors from UGCW’s past, each of whom played an important role in its journey.
Two of the roundtable speakers have been confirmed, with more TBC!
Professor Meryl Kenny, who was instrumental in the design and launch of UGCW, and served as course organiser for much of its life.
Victoria Amos first became involved with UGCW as a student in 2016. During her PhD, she returned to the course as a tutor, and later advanced to the role of senior tutor.
