Integrating Gender Equality into GCRF Funding Bids and Projects: Getting to Sufficiency

genderED and Edinburgh Research Office (International Development Research Hub) have worked together on this capacity-building project focused on Official Development Assistance research.

The project’s activities support Edinburgh academics (especially those from science, technology and engineering) and their LMIC partners to:

  • integrate gender equality considerations into Global Challenges Research Fund and Newton Fund research projects
  • promote gender parity in research teams and global research partnerships.

The team have created a suite of resources, including a new Toolkit and Guidance and briefings on the gender dimensions of several themes of ODA research. The work, funded through the Scottish Funding Council / Global Challenges Research Fund, continues in 2020-21. The project is led by Prof Fiona Mackay and Dr Rosalind Cavaghan.
