Are you a PhD Researcher at the University of Edinburgh who would like to communicate your research on gender and sexuality to a public audience? Join us at GENDER.ED in a two-part workshop to learn how to pitch an idea, write for a general audience, and distil your findings!
Selected participants will meet to ideate and develop themes from their own research on July 5 2022 (10 am – 12 pm). A consequent meeting will be held on August 18 2022 (10 am – 12 pm), to workshop and finalise blog posts created in the first session. These blog posts will be featured on the GENDER.ED blog and shared with the GENDER.ED audience through our social media channels, and as part of our annual ECR Spotlight series.
Participants can expect to leave with concrete takeaways on how to translate research for public audiences, and a piece of their own publishable writing. To apply, please send a brief paragraph outlining your PhD research to Hemangini Gupta (hemangini.gupta@ed.ac.uk) and cc to Lauren Galligan (lgallig2@ed.ac.uk) by June 24, 2022 (deadline extended from June 20). Spaces for workshop participants are limited.
